About the Role:
Our client is hiring a Staff Accountant to support core finance operations across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close processes. This role is fully remote and ideal for someone based in Latin America with 2+ years of accounting experience, strong attention to detail, and fluency in English (C1+). You’ll work directly with a U.S.-based finance team, helping maintain financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable & Expense Management
Review and process employee expense reports in line with company policy and IRS rules
Audit submissions for accuracy, proper GL coding, and required receipts
Process vendor invoices, ensuring approvals and timely payment
Month-End Close
Prepare and post journal entries (accruals, prepaids, etc.)
Reconcile key asset and liability accounts
Maintain fixed asset and prepaid schedules
Support the finance team with month-end closing tasks
Accounts Receivable
Generate and send client invoices using Xero
Track and follow up on outstanding payments
Reconcile customer payments and accounts
Resolve billing questions with clients professionally
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2+ years in accounting or finance roles
Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting procedures
Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, or similar
Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, lookups)
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
English fluency (C1+), both written and spoken
Based in Latin America and comfortable working U.S. business hours
Preferred Qualifications
CPA or progress toward CPA
Experience in construction, consulting, or technology services
Familiarity with project-based accounting or billing systems
