Job Description: Personal Lines Marketing Representative
Position Overview
The Personal Lines Marketing Representative is responsible for supporting the sales and marketing efforts of the Personal Lines department by managing all aspects of the quoting and proposal process. This role involves gathering information, preparing complete and accurate insurance quotes and proposals, presenting those proposals to producers or prospects on behalf of producers, and ensuring all necessary documents and applications are completed; coverage secured, bound and issued by the insurance company. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of both middle‑market and high‑net‑worth (HNW) personal lines insurance and must be highly proficient in coverage across all major personal lines products.
Key Responsibilities
Quoting & Proposals
Obtain and analyze information necessary to prepare accurate quotes from various personal lines carriers.
Evaluate risk characteristics and match prospects with the most appropriate markets.
Prepare professional, comprehensive proposals for producers or directly for prospects.
Present proposals when needed, demonstrating strong communication and product knowledge.
Application & Binding
Complete all required applications, supplements, and documentation with accuracy and attention to detail.
Coordinate with carriers and underwriters to secure approvals, request revisions, and finalize terms.
Bind coverage according to agency and carrier requirements, ensuring all forms are completed and deadlines are met.
Handle policy delivery and follow up on any outstanding items.
Marketing & Carrier Relations
Maintain strong relationships with carrier marketing reps and underwriters.
Keep current with carrier appetite, product offerings, and underwriting guidelines for both middle‑market and HNW segments.
Identify new market opportunities and assist producers in placing complex or specialized risks.
Operational Support
Maintain organized records of quotes, submissions, proposals, and binding documents.
Support producers by providing coverage recommendations and insights.
Ensure all processes align with compliance, quality, and service standards.
Qualifications
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in personal lines insurance, preferably in a marketing, account management, or underwriting role.
Strong knowledge of personal lines markets, including both middle‑market and high‑net‑worth carriers.
Demonstrated coverage proficiency across all major personal lines products (home, auto, umbrella, specialty, etc.).
Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to present proposals confidently.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple submissions and deadlines simultaneously.
Proficiency with rating platforms, agency management systems, and carrier portals.
Active P&C license required.
