About the role:

We are on a mission to scale the marketplace, to do that, we need robust, scalable technology that can handle complex logistics, real-time inventory, and seamless transactions. We are looking for a seasoned Backend Engineer that will be building new features, implementing scalable system architecture, and improving the foundation of our platform.

You will work in a flat, collaborative environment alongside our Head of Engineering and Product teams. We believe in autonomy, so you will own your features from the first line of code to the final deployment.

What you will do:

• Build and improve core marketplace features in PHP (Laravel)

• Develop tools that streamline logistics, warehouse operations, and order flows

• Own features end-to-end: design, implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring

• Participate in architectural decision-making as we scale our systems

• Write clean, maintainable, testable code that supports long-term growth

• Work with MySQL and Redis to build fast, scalable APIs and background workers

• Improve performance, reliability, and system resilience across the platform

• Use CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) to ensure smooth and safe deployments

• Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams in a flat structure

• Participate in code reviews and help uphold good engineering practices

What you need:

• 5+ years of experience building web applications or backend systems

• Strong experience with PHP and the Laravel framework

• Solid understanding of relational databases (MySQL)

• Experience working with queues, workers, and caching (Redis)

• You enjoy solving problems and making processes smoother

• You’re comfortable owning features end-to-end

• You communicate clearly in English

• Familiarity with AWS or similar cloud environments

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar)

Bonus points:

• Experience with event-driven architectures

• Understanding of logistics, inventory, or operational systems

• Experience working in fast-growing startups

Salary: up to EUR 85,000 K / gross yearly (full time contract)
