Objectives

  • The consultant will:

  • Mentor and develop the Associate Revenue Cycle Director into the permanent Revenue Cycle Director role.

  • Improve revenue cycle performance across Epic HB/PB and Legacy AR systems.

  • Achieve expected outcomes performance benchmarks during the engagement period.

Scope of Work

Leadership & Mentorship

  • Provide structured coaching and technical training for the Associate Revenue Cycle Director.

  • Establish governance cadence (weekly KPI reviews, monthly financial reporting).

Operational Optimization

  • Denials management and prevention strategies.

  • Improve clean claim rate (≥95% hospital / ≥98% pro fees).

  • Accelerate DNFB days and reduce payer underpayments.

  • Implement internal revenue integrity processes and coding documentation integrity program.

  • Optimize cash posting and reduce credit balances.

Compliance & Education

  • Enhance clinical documentation improvement auditing and education workflows.

  • Ensure alignment with CAH, RHC, ASC billing and Colorado-specific regulations.

Desired Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with Epic revenue cycle work queues, CAH/RHC/ASC billing, coding, and reimbursement.

  • Proven success in Colorado healthcare billing environment.

  • Strong background in denials management, revenue integrity, and KPI governance.

  • Experience in Legacy AR runout and close-out processes.

Engagement Details

Expected Outcomes:

  • Net AR Days ≤ 50

  • Clean Claim Rate ≥95% (hospital) / ≥98% (pro fees)

  • Denial Rate < 3%

  • AR > 90 days % of total billed AR < 25%

  • Development plan for Associate Revenue Cycle Director

  • Weekly progress reports and KPI measurement
