About the Role

We are looking for a Core Experience Engineering Lead to guide a small, high-impact engineering team at TestBox. You will act as both a technical leader and hands-on contributor, ensuring our core systems are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with company goals. This role combines team leadership, architectural ownership, and cross-functional collaboration with Product and Design.

In the first 3–6 months, success means:

  • Building trust and rapport with your team through effective 1:1s and mentorship

  • Taking ownership of core systems and contributing directly to feature delivery

  • Raising the bar on code quality, architecture, and engineering practices

  • Partnering with leadership to scope and prioritize impactful initiatives

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor engineers, fostering a culture of ownership and learning

  • Provide hands-on guidance through code reviews, architecture decisions, and problem-solving

  • Own the technical vision for core systems, ensuring scalability and performance

  • Drive database strategy and architecture for reliability and growth

  • Collaborate with Product and Design to define and deliver roadmap initiatives

  • Introduce new technologies, practices, and patterns to improve the platform

  • Represent the engineering perspective in strategic company discussions

Requirements

  • 6–8 years of software development experience, ideally in full-stack systems

  • 2–3 years as a Tech Lead in a B2B SaaS company or fast-scaling startup

  • Strong coding background, with 1–2 years of experience in Python and React

  • Proven ability to mentor and support engineers’ professional growth

  • Experience designing scalable database architectures

  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and product-driven development

  • Comfortable with AWS products

  • Advanced English (C1 or C2), both written and spoken

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience navigating ambiguity in early-stage or high-growth environments

  • Track record of shaping frontend or full-stack architecture at scale

  • Background in driving UI/UX improvements for technical products
