Position Summary

The Benefits Account Manager supports Producers and Benefit Consultants in the development, implementation, and ongoing management of employee benefit programs. This is a client-facing role responsible for carrier marketing, renewals, open enrollment coordination, compliance support, and day-to-day client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Market employee benefit plans to insurance carriers and analyze proposal results

  • Coordinate carrier renewals, including obtaining pricing and plan options

  • Manage carrier implementations and transitions, including:

    • Communicating plan decisions to carriers

    • Completing and submitting required paperwork

    • Ensuring enrollment import files are completed when changing carriers

    • Obtaining signed termination letters and submitting them to prior carriers

    • Obtaining and reviewing certificates for accuracy

  • Prepare open enrollment materials such as benefit guides, presentations, scripts, memos, SBCs, and required compliance notices

  • Communicate benefit decisions to internal teams, including COBRA, benefits systems, FSA/HRA administrators, call center teams, and 5500 coordination

  • Respond to day-to-day client inquiries and provide ongoing support

  • Assist with compliance requirements, including PCORI, Gag Clause, Medicare Part D notices, CMS Medicare Status filings, CAA reporting, plan document updates, and LOAs when applicable

  • Prepare reports for quarterly and renewal meetings

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in Vertafore BenefitPoint

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Prior experience in employee benefits or insurance preferred
