Full Job Description

We’re looking for a seasoned Senior Payroll Specialist with deep expertise in Netherlands payroll to join our Finance team. This role will be the primary owner of Dutch payroll operations, while also supporting France and UK payrolls as secondary locations. You’ll help us deliver exceptional accuracy, drive automation, and strengthen operational efficiency across our global Payroll and Equity ecosystem.

As a member of the Finance team, you’ll work closely with People Operations, Office Operations, Financial Systems, Benefits, Compliance, and Legal—serving as a trusted partner for all things NL payroll and international compliance.

What you’ll do:

  • Take full ownership of monthly Netherlands, France and UK payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness across salary, statutory benefits, tax and equity-related items.

  • Manage holiday allowance, 13th-month components, and other statutory changes and processes.

  • Oversee year-end processes for annual statements, tax reporting, and monthly reconciliations.

  • Partner with global vendors to ensure data, deadlines, and calculations are accurate and compliant. Ensure all payroll documentation, workflows, and internal controls are kept up-to-date and audit-ready.

  • Review equity distribution reports, reconcile monthly activity, and collaborate with the finance and payroll team to ensure accuracy in taxation and reporting.

  • Maintain clean and accurate data in our third-party equity administration platform and ensure payroll mappings align globally.

  • Drive continuous improvement opportunities across international payroll processes, automation, and system integrations. Own payroll-related employee support for NL, FR andUK inquiries with a strong emphasis on employee experience.

What you’ll need:

  • 5+ years of hands-on payroll experience, with strong functional expertise in Netherlands payroll; experience with France and/or UK payroll is a plus.

  • Solid accounting foundation including journal entries, payroll balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis. Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills, comfortable with lookups, pivot tables, checks, and reconciliations.

  • Strong knowledge of Workday HCM, FIN, and Payroll modules; familiarity with Deel is highly preferred.

  • Highly collaborative, able to work cross-functionally with US and international teams. Ability to work discreetly with sensitive employee and compensation data and one to two times a week in evenings alongside New York.

  • Responding to employee questions timely and efficiently. Collaborating closely with Office Ops and People Ops on onboarding tasks, tax documentation, and compliance requirements.
