Job Title: Senior Tax Accountant & Bookkeeper (U.S. Clients, Spanish Required)

Type: Full-time, remote

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM EST

Compensation: $1,500–$1,800/month

Position Overview

We are seeking a multi-skilled Tax Preparation & Bookkeeping Specialist to join our growing team. This is a full-time remote role supporting U.S. tax season operations and year-round bookkeeping.

The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently, with the ability to manage both tax and bookkeeping tasks. This role also supports special projects such as quarterly sales tax filings and annual business compliance, making it a key position for the firm’s scalability and growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tax Preparation: Prepare and file tax returns for small to mid-sized business clients using Pro Series software. Support amendments and ongoing tax work throughout the year.

  • Bookkeeping: Manage general ledger entries, reconciliations, month-end close procedures, and special projects as needed. Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Desktop is required.

  • Client Support: Assist with personal and business client tax questions, filings, and bookkeeping inquiries. Maintain professional relationships with clients.

  • Accounting Work: Support with general accounting tasks and operational improvements. Flexibility to handle ad hoc accounting projects.

  • Team Scalability: Contribute to firm growth by supporting a team currently managing 40 business clients, 300 personal tax clients during season, and 50 additional business tax clients.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years in tax preparation; bookkeeping experience preferred. CPA preferred but not required.

  • Must have hands-on experience preparing and filing U.S. tax returns.

  • Spanish fluency is required due to a large Spanish-speaking client base. Fluent English (written and verbal) is also required.

  • Strong experience with Pro Series and QuickBooks Online & Desktop.

  • Bookkeeping experience with U.S.-based companies is preferred but not required.

  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage changing priorities.

  • High accuracy in financial records, reconciliations, and tax filings.

  • Professional, patient, and service-oriented communication style.
