Senior Network Architect (US Only)
Role Overview
This senior-level role involves designing high-level network architectures by gathering business requirements and translating them into technical specifications for implementation teams. As the sole Architect, you'll collaborate with Principal Engineers and Product Owners, focusing on strategic planning and clear communication rather than hands-on implementation. The position impacts the client's expansion into new markets by ensuring scalable and efficient network infrastructure across datacenters.
Perks & Benefits
This is a fully remote position with a hands-off management style, offering autonomy and a collaborative, laid-back team environment. It's a full-time 1099 contract role with negotiable hourly compensation based on experience, ideal for high achievers who thrive independently. While time zone expectations aren't specified, the US-only requirement suggests flexibility within US hours, and the role provides opportunities for strategic impact in a growing company.

Lincoln Freedom Group, LLC is hiring a Senior Network Architect on behalf of a growing client expanding into multiple new markets. This is a full-time 1099 contract role (40 hours/week) for someone who can bridge the gap between business requirements and network infrastructure. What You'll Do: You'll own the high-level network design process - gathering requirements from business stakeholders, translating them into technical architecture, and creating detailed specifications for implementation teams. You'll work alongside Principal Engineers and Product Owners, writing Jira stories that task out developers on specific network objectives. This isn't a hands-on-keyboard implementation role; it's about strategic thinking and clear technical communication. The Environment: Our client operates their own datacenters and networks (no cloud providers). You'll primarily work with Cisco and Juniper equipment across DIA, EVPL, VOIP, and FTTH deployments. The team is self-driven with hands-off management - perfect for high achievers who thrive with autonomy. Your co-workers are laid back, highly skilled, and collaborative. What We're Looking For:
Deep networking expertise and ability to design at scale Python familiarity (reading/understanding, not necessarily development) Metaswitch experience would be a huge bonus Strong requirements gathering and stakeholder communication skills Experience translating business needs into technical specifications Ability to work independently and drive projects forward
Title and Structure: You'll be the only Architect on the team, working collaboratively with Principal Engineers and Product Owners who respect expertise and value clear communication.
