Position Overview:
As the Sr. Manager of Quality Assurance & Regulatory, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all our products meet rigorous quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements. You will oversee quality control processes from production to distribution, working closely with our manufacturing facilities and third-party logistics (3PL) partners. This role will oversee internal and external manufacturing, testing, labeling, and distribution practices to ensure adherence to FDA guidelines, international standards, and company SOPs.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance & Manufacturing Oversight
· Develop, implement, and maintain QA policies and procedures in compliance with FDA regulations.
· Conduct GMP audits of co-manufacturers to maintain high standards of product quality and safety.
Lead investigations into product complaints, implementing corrective and preventive actions as needed.
Implement and oversee stability testing and shelf-life studies to ensure accurate expiration dating.
Manage product recall readiness, including conducting periodic mock recalls.
Review Certificates of Analysis (CoAs) and 3rd party testing for all finished goods.
Ensure compliance with Prop 65 and other contaminant testing requirements (heavy metals, microbials)
Labeling & Claims
Review Supplement Facts Panels, ensuring accurate DV%, ingredient units, and botanical specifications.
Vet all structure-function claims for regulatory compliance and scientific substantiation.
Regulatory Affairs & Global Compliance
Maintain compliance with FDA, FSMA, and other federal regulations.
Oversee international regulatory requirements including COFEPRIS, EFSA, and Health Canada.
Monitor global standards and serve as SME for regulations across North America and Europe.
Collaboration & Strategy
Partner with R&D, product development, and marketing to ensure alignment of regulatory strategy.
Advise senior management on regulatory trends, risks, and changes in industry standards.
Train internal teams on quality and compliance best practices with SOP’s.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related discipline.
5–10 years’ QA/RA experience within dietary supplements, CPG, or food/beverage industry.
Deep understanding of FDA regulatory requirements, including cGMP and labeling regulations.
Experience managing audits, recalls, and compliance inspections.
Proficiency in ingredient and product testing protocols and interpreting CoAs.
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Certifications:
GMP Certification (21 CFR Part 111)
PCQI – Preventive Controls Qualified Individual
HACCP Certification
Tools & Systems:
Familiarity with QMS/ERP platforms such as MasterControl or TraceGains.
Experience with 3rd party lab testing with Eurofins, NSF, or similar.
