Job Description

The Product Lead is responsible for owning products end-to-end — from opportunity identification through development, launch, and in-market optimization.

This role serves as the single accountable owner of each product, working cross-functionally with formulation, supply chain, regulatory, quality, brand, and customer experience to ensure products are scientifically credible, operationally feasible, commercially successful, and compliant across markets.

Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Identify new product opportunities aligned with our mission, science standards, and brand positioning

  • Translate consumer insights, scientific trends, and internal strategy into a clear product roadmap

  • Prioritize what to build — and what not to build — based on impact, feasibility, and focus

Product Ownership

  • Own the full lifecycle of assigned products and SKUs

  • Develop detailed product briefs, including:

    • Target consumer and use case

    • Functional outcomes and scientific rationale

    • Claims guardrails

    • Target cost of goods (COGS)

    • Format, flavor, and dosage constraints

  • Manage internal and external formulators to deliver against product requirements

  • Drive cross-functional decision-making, timelines, and trade-offs

Launch Ownership

  • Own launch readiness across all functions

  • Ensure formula finalization, compliant labeling, supply readiness, and accurate educational materials

  • Act as the final internal approval point prior to product launch

Cross-Functional Bridge

  • Serve as the primary point of coordination between formulation, supply chain, regulatory, QA, brand, and marketing teams

  • Partner with supply chain and operations early to validate feasibility, cost targets, and timelines

  • Work with regulatory and quality teams to ensure compliance across intended markets

  • Align with brand and marketing teams on positioning, education, and launch planning

In-Market Product Management

  • Monitor product performance against expectations post-launch

  • Partner with customer experience teams to identify issues, feedback, and opportunities

  • Manage ongoing product updates, including:

    • Reformulations

    • Ingredient or supplier changes

    • Label and claims updates

  • Ensure continued regulatory compliance throughout the product lifecycle

Portfolio & Expansion Management

  • Manage the broader product portfolio, not only new launches

  • Evaluate when to invest, refresh, extend, or sunset products

  • Support geographic and channel expansion by adapting formulations, labeling, and claims as required

Requirements

  • 6–10+ years of experience in supplements, functional CPG, or a related consumer product category

  • Demonstrated experience owning products end-to-end, including post-launch management

  • Comfortable managing external experts (formulators, labs, consultants)

  • Strong judgment, prioritization, and communication skills

  • Solid understanding of cost structures, margins, and operational constraints

  • Thrives in fast-growing, founder-led environments
