The Role

SPAN is seeking a highly analytical and operationally-minded Inside Sales Manager to lead our sales efforts from our San Francisco headquarters. This is a pivotal role designed for a leader who acts as the "eyes and ears" of the sales organization, ensuring that the insights gathered on the front lines are translated into an improved customer journey and sales outcomes.

In this role, you will bridge the gap between high-level data analysis and boots-on-the-ground execution. You will be responsible for managing a defined sales territory while simultaneously leading the inside sales team and optimizing the systems they use. We value analytical prowess and a data-driven mindset—we are looking for a builder who can master our tools, scale our processes, and coach our sales team.

Responsibilities

  • Sales Leadership & Execution: Lead and mentor the inside sales team while personally maintaining accountability for a defined geographic territory. You will lead by example, hitting individual targets while elevating the performance of the group.

  • Operational Excellence: Own the sales tech stack. You will optimize lead generation, customer management, and communication flows, ensuring that the systems the team uses are efficient and scalable.

  • Corporate Insights & Data Strategy: Serve as the strategic partner to the VP of Commercial Sales. You will provide proactive insights and actionable data to drive revenue growth and customer acquisition across the Western region and beyond.

  • Cross-Functional Integration:

  • Sales Ops: Analyze sales strategy and tool deployment effectiveness to ensure the team has the right resources to win.

  • Marketing: Partner to develop the tools, collateral, and messaging required to create a frictionless installer experience.

  • Product: Act as the feedback loop between the field and HQ, delivering data-backed insights on installer needs to influence product development.

Required Qualifications

  • Analytical Mindset: Strong ability to use data to tell a story, identify bottlenecks, and drive decision-making. Proficiency in CRM management and sales analytics is essential.

  • Strategic Leadership: Experience managing or leading teams, with a proven ability to "roll up your sleeves" and manage a personal book of business while coaching others.

  • Agility: A fast learner who can quickly master the technical aspects of the energy and electrical industry.

  • Presence: Based in or willing to relocate to San Francisco to work out of our HQ, ensuring tight integration with the broader corporate team.
