Role Overview:
We are looking for a motivated co-op student to join our R&D Mobile team as a Hardware Engineer Co-op. In this role you will be able to gain hands-on experience with lab equipment and get the chance to learn from industry professionals while working on our Mobile Hotspot products. You will be working in a temporary full-time position at our Richmond, BC office. This role requires working on-site five days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
Validate and troubleshoot hardware circuits including power supplies, power management, memory interfaces, inter-processor interfaces, serial interfaces, USB, Ethernet, and other high-speed standards
Assist in validating Power Adapter, Battery Pack, and battery charging systems
Follow design verification test plans and document reports for wireless devices
Assist with assembly, rework, and debug of various wireless products
Required Qualifications:
Strong interest and knowledge in wireless data communication hardware development
Solid experience with lab equipment (power supply, oscilloscope, function generator, multimeter, etc.)
Experience with reworking PCB (i.e., soldering fine wires and SMT components, etc.)
Proficient experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to multi-task, and work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
