Role
As our Finance controller intern, you will report to both the Head of Accounting, Consolidation and Taxes:
Employee Expense & Travel Management:
Compliance Control: Review and validate employee expense reports, business travel expenses, team events, and commitment of reimbursable costs. Ensure strict adherence to the company's internal policy and current tax regulations.
Reimbursement Process: Manage the cycle of expense reimbursement: receipt, verification of supporting documents, data entry into the accounting system (ERP or dedicated tool like SAP Concur, Expensify), and preparation for payment.
User Support: Act as the primary point of contact for employees regarding the travel and expense policy, providing guidance and resolving issues related to expense reporting.
Process Improvement: Participate in the continuous improvement of the expense management process, including documenting procedures and potentially assisting with new system functionalities.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Expense Analysis: Produce detailed monthly reports on expenses categorized by department, nature of cost (travel, accommodation, meals, etc.), and employee.
Budgetary Contribution: Assist in analyzing variances between actual expenditures and allocated budgets for travel and representation expenses.
Dashboard Creation: Collaborate on the design and maintenance of clear, visual dashboards (using Excel, Google Sheets, or BI tools) to monitor trends in travel and operating costs.
Supporting Monthly Financial Closing
Reconciliations: Support in performing account reconciliations (e.g., bank accounts, general ledger accounts) to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
Documentation: Contribute to the preparation of supporting documentation required for monthly closing files.
Provide general assistance to the Controlling team on various daily tasks necessary for a timely and accurate closing process.
Profile
Education: Bachelor finance / accounting / controlling (business school, engineering school, or university).
Qualities: Pragmatic, rigorous, proactive, and eager to grow within a close-knit team.
Fluent in French and English (spoken and written).
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize effectively.
Accountable, adaptable, and clear communicator.
Tools: Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, with the ability to create robust reports.
