Job Title: Residential Construction Estimator
Location: Remote
Working Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm EST
Monthly Payment: $1,000 - $1,500 USD (Flexible based on experience and assessment)
Start Date: December 2025 (Urgent need)
The Opportunity
Join a growing residential construction firm as a key Estimator focused on enhancing budget accuracy and operational efficiency. This is a critical, independent role designed to support our growing workload by preparing detailed, precise construction budgets and contracts. We are looking for a highly analytical and persistent self-starter with exceptional Excel expertise.
Core Responsibilities
Construction Budgeting & Takeoffs: Prepare detailed residential construction budgets and material takeoffs from architectural drawings.
Contract Preparation: Generate initial drafts of residential contracts based on approved project scopes and estimates.
Database Management: Maintain and improve Excel-based databases for material pricing, subcontractor bids, and other cost data.
Scope Analysis: Convert complex scopes of work (e.g., adding radiant floor heating) into clear, itemized documents for internal approval and budgeting.
Tool Improvement: Actively maintain and suggest improvements for our core Excel budgeting tool, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Quality Control: Proactively check for inconsistencies and errors in estimates to prevent costly budget discrepancies.
Collaboration: Work closely and efficiently with the company principal utilizing Monday.com and occasional WhatsApp communication.
Required Skills & Experience
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience in construction takeoffs and budgeting in their country of origin or similar markets. This must include at least one (1) year of expertise specifically working with US residential construction budgets, materials, and scopes.
Excel Mastery (Crucial): Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential for this role.
Must be able to quickly understand, dissect, and manipulate large, complex, interlinked spreadsheets. A strong command of advanced formulas is essential.
Technical Tools: Prior experience with takeoff software like Bluebeam or PlanSwift is
preferred, though direct experience with Excel-based budgeting is most important.
Analytical Mindset: Exceptional problem-solving skills, and the "imagination" to translate architectural plans and scopes into accurate, itemized budgets.
Excellent mathematical, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Independent Learning: Proven ability to quickly master new processes, tools, and complex spreadsheets with minimal formal training. Curiosity and persistence are key.
