The position We're looking for a full-time Director of Business Development to lead our efforts to expand our client base. For a long time silverorange successfully relied on word of mouth and existing partnerships to sustain our growth - we have now reached a point where we feel we need a dedicated business development specialist in order to meet our business goals. We re looking for a strategic and proactive person who will leverage their expertise to shape our business development strategy and implement the processes to support sustained growth. This position is available immediately and we will work with you to get you started as soon as possible. Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and implement a strategic business development plan.

Build out our sales pipeline; implement and maintain a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system or alternative for leads.

Seek out, establish, and cultivate new client relationships.

Act as the face of the company for events, client visits, business mixers etc.

Seek and respond to appropriate requests for proposals; create proposals for potential new clients.

Recommend a business-to-business marketing strategy while keeping an eye on industry trends, advise leadership of potential new markets and research to support our services.

Maintain and/or coordinate open communication with existing and former clients to foster future work.

Regularly report to the operations team on business development activities.

Requirements

Be eligible & available to work from Canada.

Be willing and able to travel nationally and internationally to meet with prospective clients.

5+ years of experience leading business-to-business sales for an organization in the digital services industry.

Experience developing, maintaining, and implementing a business development plan and actively managing a sales pipeline.

Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. Experience working in a remote or asynchronous environment is an asset.

Strong sense of ownership over and self-direction in the work.

Strong client management skills.

This is a full-time remote position regardless of location, though you are welcome to work from our lovely offices in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada if you wish. The majority of our team is full-time remote and 95% of our clients are remote. You ll need to be comfortable working with a remote team regardless of your location. Typically all employees spend at least one week each year working from our Charlottetown office, so plan on visiting PEI semi-regularly. Though you may be working remotely, you ll be an active member of a great and small but growing team, both here at silverorange and with our clients. Salaries based on skills and experience ranging from CAD $80,500 - $98,500, with both annual company wide salary band adjustments as well as opportunities and expectation of ongoing career and compensation growth.

Additional remote worker salary add-on of CAD $3,000 per year and a wellness salary add-on of $500 per year.
