🏅 The Role
We’re hiring a Direct SMB Originator. Your job is to own and close smaller direct SMB deals end-to-end on the customer side. You will work directly with businesses buying energy through tem, guiding them from first contact to signed agreement and a clean handoff.
This role helps the wider team stay focused by ensuring enterprise originators can spend their time on bigger, more complex deals, while you reliably cover the long tail of direct SMB demand.
You will run a simple, high-velocity motion: qualify, progress, close, and hand off cleanly. You’ll spend a lot of time speaking with customers, keeping pipeline tight, and making sure small direct deals do not stall or get lost.
🚀 Responsibilities
Own and close smaller direct SMB opportunities from first contact to signature, working directly with the business customer buying energy.
Respond quickly to inbound direct interest and progress deals with clear next steps.
Run discovery calls to understand the customer’s needs (site, contract timing, usage, priorities) and qualify fit.
Explain the tem proposition clearly to buyers and guide them through the decision and contracting process.
Keep deal hygiene high: notes, stages, timelines, and handover details are always clear.
Coordinate with internal teams where needed (Commercial, Ops, Legal) to keep customer-side deals moving.
Ensure clean handoffs so onboarding and delivery are smooth.
Share lightweight feedback on what SMB customers are asking for and where deals get stuck.
🎯 Requirements
Must haves
Experience in direct B2B sales where you owned deals end-to-end with the customer.
Comfortable speaking with customers every day and driving deals to a clear outcome.
Strong follow-up and pipeline management habits.
Clear communicator who keeps internal handoffs simple and tidy.
Coachable and motivated to grow through the ranks.
Desirable
Experience in energy, utilities, or customer procurement processes (nice to have, not required).
Experience working in a fast-moving commercial team with high volume and short cycles.
Interest in sustainability and clean energy.
