Full Job Description
About the Role
We’re looking for a commercially minded, hands-on Commercial Management Accountant to join Stora at a pivotal stage of growth.
This is a broad, high-impact role for someone who enjoys being close to the detail but thinks beyond the numbers, using financial insight to influence decisions, shape strategy, and help the business scale sustainably.
While this role includes core management accounting responsibilities, it is not a traditional back-office accounting role. It sits at the intersection of finance, commercial strategy, and execution in a SaaS environment.
Why this role matters
As one of the early finance hires, you’ll work closely with the leadership team and partners across the business to help build the commercial and financial foundations needed to scale.
You’ll play a key role in:
shaping how we understand performance
improving how we forecast and plan
supporting better, faster decision-making
building processes and insight that grow with the company
There is significant scope for this role to expand in responsibility and impact as Stora continues to grow.
What you’ll do
You’ll own and evolve the commercial finance engine of the business, including:
Preparing monthly management accounts, including P&L analysis, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations
Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning in partnership with senior stakeholders
Owning and developing SaaS and RevOps reporting across MRR/ARR, churn, expansion, gross margin, and unit economics
Business partnering with Product, Engineering, and Commercial teams to provide insight, challenge assumptions, and support performance
Supporting leadership decision-making through clear, commercially focused analysis and reporting
Maintaining and improving transactional finance processes across AP, AR, and cash management
Identifying and implementing process improvements and automation as the finance function scales
Supporting audit, tax, and compliance requirements as the business grows
Building financial models to support pricing, enterprise sales, investment, and strategic initiatives
Helping shape how finance operates at Stora — combining strong financial discipline with commercial thinking and pragmatism
About You
You’re someone who understands how SaaS businesses actually work and enjoys operating in a scaling environment.
You’ll likely bring:
A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). Part-qualified candidates will be considered where experience is highly relevant.
Experience in a fast-growing SaaS or technology-led business, this is essential.
A strong track record of making a tangible impact in a finance role within a growth-focused environment.
Commercial awareness, with experience improving efficiency, profitability, and decision-making.
The ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the business and influence without hierarchy.
Comfort balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a dynamic, evolving environment.
We're looking for someone who
Understands SaaS fundamentals — recurring revenue, unit economics, cash flow timing, and why growth decisions often involve trade-offs rather than certainty.
Has an entrepreneurial mindset, with the confidence to build processes and ways of working from first principles rather than relying on inherited playbooks.
Is collaborative and approachable, with strong communication skills and a genuine interest in partnering with non-finance stakeholders.
Is analytical, forward-thinking, and comfortable making recommendations in a fast-moving environment where data is rarely perfect.
Has ambition and motivation to grow with the business, taking on increasing responsibility and ownership over time.
This role is not for you if:
You’re looking for a highly structured, process-heavy finance environment where everything is already defined.
Your experience is primarily in traditional accounting roles with limited exposure to SaaS metrics or commercial decision-making.
You prefer reporting on historical performance rather than influencing future outcomes.
Working pattern
This is a hybrid role, with 2-3 days per week in our Belfast office and the remaining days working from home.
What we offer
Competitive salary
Share options
Hybrid working (2 days in office and 3 days WFH per week)
35 days holiday
Private health insurance (for you + family)
Company Pension plan
Apple hardware

We review applications on a rolling basis and will be in touch quickly if there’s a good fit.
