Associate Attorney

Job Summary:Creditors Rights law firm seeking an individual to fill the Associate Attorney position for our Arizona practice. Licensure is required with admission to the Arizona Bar. This position is a State-Level Attorney whose focus will be a combination of review of information at placement of files to determine collection eligibility and Arizona litigation work. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary.Determine eligibility of files for collection efforts and the issuing of demand lettersReview pleadings, including lawsuits, motions for default judgment, and writs of garnishment Review incoming correspondence and motions and take responsive action Represent clients in court settings, including default motion hearings, garnishment hearings, and trialsRepresent clients in court-mandated arbitrationsAttempt settlement with pro se litigants and opposing counselsProvide analysis and advice on legal and regulatory risksMaintain familiarity with state and federal consumer laws and keep abreast of any changes in state or local rules applicable to practiceRequired Skills/Abilities:Maintenance of professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the publicAbility to prioritize and organize a high volume of informationAbility to work in a deadline-driven environmentAbility to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firmEducation and Experience:License to practice law in Arizona is requiredKnowledge of federal, state, and local lawsAbility to analyze case law and provide recommendationsAbility to draft legal pleadingsAbility to compose and/or review reports, legal opinions, correspondence, and other documentsKnowledge of Bankruptcy Law or the FDCPA/FCRA/TCPA is a plus but is not requiredExperience in collection law is a plus but is not requiredPhysical Requirements:Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computerFrequently required to talk and/or hear, and use hands to type, handle, or touch objectsRegularly required to stand and walk and may be required to stop, bend, or reach above the shouldersMust be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds at timesWork Environment:The position is fully remote.
