Full Job Description
Visting Finance Analyst
Knowunity is building the future of learning, and our Finance function needs to scale just as fast. We're looking for a Visiting Finance Analyst to work directly alongside our Director Finance & People and closely with the founders. You'll be a hands-on contributor across everything from financial close and reporting to process automation and cross-functional projects, learning the craft of finance in a high-growth startup from the people building it. Think of this as a front-row seat within Finance: real ownership of your workstreams, direct access to leadership, and the chance to see how a modern finance function is built from the ground up.
Your Impact
Support the Director: Act as a right hand for the Director — help prepare decision briefs, support cross-functional initiatives, and keep projects moving so nothing falls through the cracks.
Finance Operations & Accounting: Support key financial processes including the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, and help coordinate with external auditors. Contribute to accurate, reliable financial reporting across jurisdictions.
Controlling & Financial Planning: Assist with operational controlling — budget planning, financial forecasting, and liquidity tracking. Help build monthly reporting, support ad hoc deep dives, and turn data into clear analysis that informs decisions.
AI & Automation: Spot and help implement opportunities to automate manual finance workflows using AI tools, low-code platforms, and smart integrations. Be part of the shift from static reporting to dynamic, AI-enhanced financial intelligence.
Cross-Functional Bridge: Help coordinate with tax advisors, auditors, and legal providers, and work alongside teams across the org such as Growth and Engineering.
Your Background
Education: Currently studying, on a gap year, or recently graduated in business, finance, economics, or a related field, ideally at a strong university.
Some Exposure: Any prior internship or coursework in finance, accounting, controlling, or consulting is a plus — but curiosity and drive matter most.
Analytical Chops: Strong analytical mindset and solid Excel skills. You enjoy turning messy data into clear answers.
Tech-Forward Mindset: A strong interest in AI tools and how they can automate and improve the way work gets done. Familiarity with BI or low-code tools is a bonus.
Accounting Basics: A foundational understanding of accounting principles; familiarity with German accounting practices or IFRS is a plus.
Languages: Strong German and English skills, written and spoken.
Mindset: Proactive, self-driven, and pragmatic. You're eager to learn, take ownership of your work, and get energized by working closely with leadership.
What We Offer
Real ownership from day one - direct access to founders and leadership, flat hierarchy.
Elite team and true ownership: You’ll work alongside 60 exceptional young people who match your ambition within a flat hierarchy - direct access to founders and leadership without bureaucratic middle layers.
Benefits: 28 days annual leave, mental health support via Nilo, Urban Sports Club, team and company events
