We are on a growth trajectory to achieve our mission of a more connected care approach for cardiometabolic health.

About 9amHealth

9amHealth is a Virtual Cardiometabolic Care company, a first of its kind, whole body approach to preventing and treating diabetes, high blood pressure, dyslipidemia, and obesity. We provide a healthcare experience for members with virtual specialty physicians, at-home lab tests, continuous glucose monitors, home-delivered medications, and personalized meal plans.

The Role

We are seeking licensed physicians to serve as Telehealth Physicians for 9amHealth. In this role, you will provide synchronous video appointments and asynchronous consultations to patients with cardiometabolic conditions. You will also provide clinical advice and supervision to other members of the 9amHealth interdisciplinary care team, which consists of registered dieticians, clinical pharmacists, health coaches, ARNPs and RNs.

This is a full time W2 role dedicated to caring for 9amHealth members across multiple states.

What you’ll do

  • Consistently maintain a clinic schedule of both synchronous video visits and asynchronous consultations, ensuring timely and comprehensive care for 9amHealth’s members.

  • Provide evidence based care to patients with complex cardiometabolic conditions (diabetes, hypertension, obesity, hyperlipidemia).

  • Perform medical assessments appropriate to the encounter, review patient histories, and address patient concerns within the scope of the appointment.

  • Provide medical recommendations, prescriptions, or referrals as appropriate, consistent with state medical licensure and applicable standards of care.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient encounters in 9amHealth’s electronic health record system, limited to information generated during the synchronous visit.

  • Conduct asynchronous telehealth consultations with patients on demand, which are prepared and submit to you by our multidisciplinary Care Team.

  • Supervise and provide clinical decision support to multidisciplinary Care Team members.

  • Act as supervising physician for advanced practice providers (ARNPs).

What you’ll need

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.

  • Active board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Endocrinology, Cardiology, Obesity Medicine, or a related specialty.

  • Valid, unrestricted medical licenses in at least 10 U.S. states.

  • Experience treating cardiometabolic conditions, including type 2 diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and obesity.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to deliver care virtually.

  • Prior telemedicine experience preferred.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Be part of a pioneering model of cardiometabolic care that combines medicine, technology, and lifestyle support.

  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team that values evidence based medicine and whole-person health.

  • Work in a fully virtual environment that allows you to focus on patient care without the burden of in person clinic operations.

  • Join a mission driven organization that prioritizes access, equity, and compassionate care for all.

Commitment to Compliance & Equity

9amHealth complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding independent contractor relationships. We welcome applications from a diverse range of physicians, including those from BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and underrepresented communities.

We foster a collaborative learning mindset and a passion for improvement. You'll work with a brand-new product alongside a small, flexible team of people eager to shape technology, infrastructure, and culture.
