9amHealth is a Virtual Cardiometabolic Care company, a first of its kind, whole body approach to preventing and treating diabetes, high blood pressure, dyslipidemia, and obesity. We provide a healthcare experience for members with virtual specialty physicians, at home lab tests, continuous glucose monitors, home delivered medications, and personalized meal plans.
What it is
Independent Contractor Role
We are seeking licensed physicians to serve as Independent Contractor Telehealth Physicians for 9amHealth. As an independent contractor, you will provide synchronous video appointments to patients with cardiometabolic conditions. This role is limited to conducting real-time medical consultations.
What you’ll do
Conduct synchronous telehealth consultations with patients as scheduled by 9amHealth for cardiometabolic conditions (diabetes, hypertension, obesity, hyperlipidemia).
Perform medical assessments appropriate to the encounter, review patient histories, and address patient concerns within the scope of the appointment.
Provide medical recommendations, prescriptions, or referrals as appropriate, consistent with state medical licensure and applicable standards of care.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient encounters in 9amHealth’s electronic health record system, limited to information generated during the synchronous visit.
What you’ll need
Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
Active board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Endocrinology, Cardiology, Obesity Medicine, or a related specialty.
Experience treating cardiometabolic conditions including type 2 diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and obesity.
Active medical license in the state(s) where services are provided.
Strong communication skills and ability to deliver care virtually.
Prior telemedicine experience preferred.
Independent Contractor Terms
This is a 1099 independent contractor engagement.
Contractors are not employees of 9amHealth and are not eligible for employee benefits.
Contractors retain control over how and when services are provided, subject only to applicable scheduling commitments and medical/legal requirements.
Contractors are responsible for maintaining their own licensure, and tax obligations.
Engagements are non-exclusive; physicians may provide services to other entities simultaneously.
