About the Role:
As a Partner Consulting Engineer on the growing Partner Team at Kong, you will work directly with our partners, guiding them through the technical aspects of implementing and deploying Kong API Management products. You'll work as a technical advisor, helping partners build practices on our technology and ensuring their long-term success through strategic enablement. This role involves collaborating with various internal teams and external partners, from developers to executives.
What you'll bring:
6+ years of relevant experience in API management and integration technologies, with 3-4 years on partner enablement and enterprise technology trainings.
Passion for delivering bootcamps and addressing a large gathering of technical experts.
Strong knowledge of API gateways and API integrations (Kong, MuleSoft, Apigee, IBM API Connect, etc.).
Familiarity with auth schemes and IdPs like Okta, Auth0, Azure AD, Cognito, etc.
Basic understanding of microservices architectures.
Proficiency in Linux environments.
Exposure to Docker & Kubernetes.
Familiarity with major cloud providers and key services (GCP, AWS, Azure).
Knowledge of API integration with leading AI model providers such as OpenAI, Google Vertex, Amazon Bedrock, etc.
Knowledge of event streaming and messaging providers such as Kafka, Solace, and other leading MQ systems.
Team-oriented approach and strong communication skills.
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to change.
Preferably cloud intermediate+ level certification from AWS/Microsoft/GCP and/or any API management professional certification from leading providers.
What you will be doing:
Drive Kong Products and Practice Enablements bootcamps at scale with partners.
Assisting partners on their API lifecycle journey with their customers through technical workshops.
Lead the creation of enablement content in the form of videos, recorded demos, and presentations for partner-focused requirements and for new features/releases.
Design repeatable frameworks that scale across geographies, practices, and industries.
Guiding partners through installation and implementation of Kong solutions.
Collaborating with internal teams (Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Sales).
Contributing to technical documentation and knowledge base articles.
Guide partner team members to achieve Kong certifications.
Travel to partner locations up to 50%.
