ALSO is looking for a Motor Controls Engineer to play a pivotal role in developing advanced motor controls for our vehicles.

What You Will Do

  • Develop advanced motor control algorithms and contribute to other control development needs.

  • Develop and maintain simulation models for control validations and studies.

  • Test and troubleshoot in the lab and on our vehicles.

  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical and system engineers to contribute to requirements, development and validation.

  • Identify, report, and track software bugs; analyze logs to troubleshoot issues.

What You Will Bring

  • MS or PhD degree in Controls, Electrical Engineering, or related field, with a focus on motor controls and drives.

  • Strong background in controls of PMSM and inverters. Practical experience with motor control algorithms like FOC and DTC, PWM strategies, etc..

  • Hands on experience testing motor drive systems. Understanding of equipment like dynamometers, power supplies and power meters.

  • Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, including model-based design, Stateflow, and developing automation scripts.

  • Familiar embedded controller and programming languages such as C and Python.

  • Familiar with automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN) and tools such as Vector CANalyzer, CANape, etc..

  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration workflows.


The salary for this position ranges from $200,000 to $260,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
