ALSO is looking for a Staff Geartrain Design Engineer to support transmission component design of critical components of next generation light electric vehicles
What You Will Do
Geartrain component design of rotating shafts, torque split devices, couplings, and clutches
Geartrain modeling to evaluate geartrain noise, efficiency, durability, reliability
Spline sizing and load rating
Bearing load analysis and life rating
Establish bearing and gear mesh lubrication requirements
Establish gear mesh and bearing alignment requirements
2D and 3D modeling utilizing CAD software
Statistical analysis for component stack-up
Component level testing for performance, durability, reliability, and variability
Geartrain component quality troubleshooting resulting in supplier corrective action
What You Will Bring
Prior geartrain design and analysis experience from concept through production ramp
Experience in rotating machinery design including gears, bearings, and tribology analysis
Strong fundamental knowledge of statics, dynamics, and mechanics of materials
Geartrain system modeling experience utilizing Romax, Masta, Transmission3D, KissSoft or equivalent
Proficiency in 3D modeling and product lifecycle management (PLM). Catia preferred but not required
Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or equivalent programming language
Strong fundamental understanding of material properties, heat treatment, and gear manufacturing methods
Experience with finite element analysis for evaluating stress, strain, and modal response
The salary for this position ranges from $170,000 - $235,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
