Full Job Description
At Snowflake, we are powering the era of the agentic enterprise. To usher in this new era, we seek AI-native thinkers across every function who are energized by the opportunity to reinvent how they work. You don’t just use tools; you possess an innate curiosity, treating AI as a high-trust collaborator that is core to how you solve problems and accelerate your impact. We look for low-ego individuals who thrive in dynamic and fast-moving environments and move with an experimental mindset — who rapidly test emerging capabilities to discover simpler, more powerful ways to deliver results. At Snowflake, your role isn't just to execute a function, but to help redefine the future of how work gets done.
Snowflake is about empowering enterprises to achieve their full potential — and people too. With a culture that’s all in on impact, innovation, and collaboration, Snowflake is the sweet spot for building big, moving fast, and taking technology — and careers — to the next level.
We are looking for a proactive, hands-on Payroll Product Manager to drive leading-edge solutions within our Workday Payroll and Global Payroll ecosystem. This role is designed for a problem-solver who combines deep U.S. payroll expertise with the technical rigor to transform complex requirements into scalable, compliant system solutions.
You will work closely with Payroll Operations teams to ensure our payroll systems are automated, resilient, and built for global growth. As a key member, you are expected to bring a “can-do” mindset — willing to pivot as business needs evolve and ready to support the broader organization when complexity arises.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical Delivery & Configuration: Analyze complex payroll challenges and design automated, scalable solutions. Own hands-on configuration of Workday Payroll, including earnings, deductions, garnishments, tax setup, costing allocations, pay slips, and security frameworks.
Payroll Compliance & Global Expansion: Ensure multi-state U.S. payroll compliance while supporting global payroll harmonization and country rollouts. Design solutions that balance regulatory rigor with operational efficiency.
Integrations & Automation: Design or troubleshoot integrations using Workday EIB, Core Connectors, Studio, and APIs (REST/SOAP). Enable seamless data flow across Payroll, Time Tracking, Benefits, Finance, and third-party vendors.
Data-Driven Optimization: Develop or support Workday custom reports (Advanced, Matrix, Composite), Dashboards and Analytics to drive efficiency and controls. Nice to have SQL proficiency and experience with Snowflake.
SDLC Excellence: Lead unit, integration, regression, and UAT testing. Maintain high-quality documentation to ensure payroll configurations and integrations are scalable, secure, and audit-ready.
Operational Governance: Serve as Payroll Systems SME. Support SOX compliance, audit readiness, release impact analysis, and continuous system optimization.
AI Innovation: Develop and execute roadmaps for leveraging AI to streamline payroll processes
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Experience: 5+ years in a hands-on role focused on Payroll Systems
Workday Payroll Administration (Must Have): Proven hands-on experience configuring and supporting Workday Payroll.
Workday Reporting & Integrations: Experience building Workday Custom Reports and calculated fields. Experience supporting integrations (EIB, Core Connectors, Studio) and working knowledge of Workday APIs (REST/SOAP).
Systems & Analytical Depth: Strong problem-solving capabilities and the ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Payroll Domain Expertise: Strong functional knowledge of U.S. payroll (federal, state, and local compliance).
CORE COMPETENCIES:
Low Ego, High Impact: A team-first collaborator who jumps in to support colleagues and stakeholders whenever challenges arise. You don’t complain when asked to help; you see it as an opportunity to drive impact.
Architectural Thinking: Ability to understand how payroll data flows across HR, Finance, and external vendor ecosystems — designing systems that are scalable, compliant, and future-ready.
Proactive Ownership: Self-driven and solutions-oriented. You don’t wait for perfect requirements — you help define them and move execution forward.
Curiosity & Agility: You naturally question how payroll systems can be smarter, faster, and more automated. You remain effective in ambiguity, adapt quickly in high-growth environments, and continuously look for opportunities to elevate the payroll technology landscape.
Snowflake is growing fast, and we’re scaling our team to help enable and accelerate our growth. We are looking for people who share our values, challenge ordinary thinking, and push the pace of innovation while building a future for themselves and Snowflake.
