Full Job Description

This is a remote position. SUMMARY We're looking for a key player to join our team, focusing on our core data center and cloud platforms for clients in the fast-paced financial services industry. This is a true engineering role, not a simple administration position. You will be challenged to solve complex problems and design robust, scalable solutions. As a senior member of the team, you will elevate our technical capabilities and directly contribute to the stability and performance of the infrastructure that powers our clients' operations. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Architect & Implement: Lead the design, implementation, and support of new technology projects, from initial scoping and client onboarding to final delivery. Manage Core Platforms: Take ownership of our multi-tenant infrastructure, including VMware, Proxmox, and cloud environments in Azure. Optimize & Maintain: Proactively monitor our systems with CheckMK, manage storage on Pure Storage and HPE, and ensure the health of our Citrix delivery platforms as well as other Key technologies Troubleshoot & Resolve: Act as a final escalation point for complex technical issues, performing deep-dive root cause analysis and collaborating with support teams to ensure timely resolution. Collaborate & Innovate: Work closely with a team of skilled engineers to share knowledge, improve processes, and evaluate emerging technologies. Provide Critical Support: Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to provide after-hours support for critical infrastructure. QUALIFICATIONS Virtualization: RedHat Openshift, VMware ESXi/vCenter, Proxmox VE Cloud: Microsoft Azure (IaaS/PaaS) Application & Desktop Delivery: Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix NetScaler (ADC) Storage: Pure Storage, HPE Operating Systems: Windows Server, Linux Monitoring: CheckMK or similar enterprise monitoring tools Experience: A minimum of 8 years in a system engineering role, with a strong preference for experience in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment. Problem-Solver: You are a logical thinker with a talent for identifying the root cause of an issue and implementing effective, long-term solutions. Ownership: You are a self-starter who can work independently but also knows when to engage the team to mitigate risk and achieve project goals. Resilience: You perform well under pressure and can manage priorities effectively, even with short deadlines. Certifications: Industry certifications like Azure Solutions Architect Expert, MCSE, VCP, or CCP are highly desirable. Availability: You must be able to work Eastern Time (EST) business hours and be available for occasional night/weekend work as part of the on-call rotation. JOB REQUIREMENTS Should be willing to accept a long-term work-from-home arrangement. Should be amenable to a permanent night shift schedule.
