About the Role:
The Communications team at Hims & Hers is responsible for shaping how the world understands our company’s role in advancing modern healthcare. We help define the narrative, build trust across the medical and scientific community, and spotlight the rigor behind our approach to personalized care.
We’re looking for a Senior Manager of Healthcare Industry & Research Communications to lead storytelling and engagement around our medical expertise, clinical research, and industry thought leadership. In this role, you’ll partner closely with our Chief Medical Officer and medical leaders to develop and execute 360 campaigns that elevate our clinical credibility, across health and science publications, industry events, executive communications, and research initiatives. You’ll also work cross-functionally with our research, policy, product and clinical teams to translate data and scientific insights into compelling, accessible narratives for more mainstream audiences.
You thrive in a fast-moving, high-impact environment. You know how to distill complex medical and research concepts into clear, human stories. You’re comfortable balancing scientific depth with consumer impact, and you bring experience supporting communications at the intersection of healthcare, innovation, and clinical excellence. You understand how to operationalize communications in highly regulated contexts and are adept at shaping narratives that reinforce trust, quality, and patient safety.
You Will:
Build and lead an integrated communications strategy that elevates understanding of Hims & Hers’ medical leadership, research initiatives, and clinical rigor across the healthcare and scientific landscape.
Shape compelling narratives that highlight our research partnerships, clinical outcomes, quality & safety practices, and contributions to the broader health ecosystem, making our impact clear to peers, partners, and policymakers.
Lead communications around research publications, clinical collaborations, and industry events—from positioning and messaging to media strategy and execution—ensuring consistency across channels.
Develop high-impact communications materials including research summaries, whitepapers, press releases, thought-leadership pieces, executive remarks, and industry-facing content.
Build and maintain relationships with key journalists at healthcare and medical trade outlets, academic institutions, and healthcare influencers.
Serve as a strategic partner to the Chief Medical Officer and medical leaders, helping elevate their voices through speaking engagements, op-eds, conference participation, and internal/external storytelling.
Collaborate closely with the research and policy teams to translate scientific insights into credible, human stories that advance understanding of our approach to care.
You Have:
8-10 years of experience in healthcare, medical, or research communications—ideally within a fast-paced, innovative, or highly regulated environment.
A Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a scientific discipline
Experience engaging with both medical trade and mainstream media, with strong relationships across health, science, and business press.
A proven ability to lead strategic communications around research findings, clinical milestones, and executive initiatives, from messaging to publication and amplification.
Experience supporting communications in crisis contexts, developing public-facing explanations of complex medical standards.
A strong track record of crafting credible, data-driven narratives that build trust among clinicians, researchers, policymakers, and patients alike.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex medical or research topics into clear, accessible messages.
Comfort working alongside executives, physicians, researchers, legal, and policy teams to shape sensitive or high-impact communications with precision and credibility.
Our Benefits (there are more but here are some highlights):
Competitive salary & equity compensation for full-time roles
Unlimited PTO, company holidays, and quarterly mental health days
Comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental & vision, and parental leave
Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP)
401k benefits with employer matching contribution
Offsite team retreats
