💻 Role
Software Engineer (Whatnot Inc.; Culver City, CA): Work with the team to scope and deliver new software features to support seller inventory processes. Maintain existing product surfaces by shipping improvements and scaling systems to meet growth demands. Build data marts for Inventory features to facilitate data-driven decision-making across the company. Triage product or system issues and seeing them through to resolution. Participate in code reviews and technical discussions. Be a member of an on-call rotation to ensure adequate coverage to support our users. Build new features for users in Whatnot Inc.’s live streams. Implement growth tactics and strategies to scale our buyer and seller flows. Build systems at scale that help deliver a high trust marketplace experience. Design, implement, and operate Whatnot Inc.’s most critical and scalable services. Evaluating the technical tradeoffs of every decision. Supporting features at every phase, from design through implementation and launch. Introduce new techniques, tools, and architecture that improve the quality, performance, latency, throughput, and efficiency of models. Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues, network, or service operations and quality. Telecommuting permitted from within the U.S.

Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, one (1) year of experience as a Software Engineer or related occupation.
Must have experience with the following: back-end programming language: Python or Elixir; relational database: MySQL or PostgreSQL; contributing to user-facing clients (React web page, Android, or iOS app); building product and scalable systems; and Kafka, Elasticsearch, and NoSQL Database.
Salary: $145,000 - $180,000 per year
