Role Overview
Chartis is seeking a Senior Systems Specialist (SSS) with strong Epic Patient Access and Cheers expertise to join our Revenue Cycle Transformation Practice. This role is ideal for an experienced Epic analyst who brings deep in-system knowledge and has supported a variety of Epic initiatives including implementations, upgrades, optimizations, and/or Community Connect engagements.
As a Senior Systems Specialist, you will focus on Epic system configuration, build, and optimization across patient access applications, including digital patient engagement tools such as Cheers. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to deliver high-quality technical solutions that align with operational goals.
Responsibilities
System Configuration and Build: Design, configure, and maintain Epic Patient Access applications (Cadence and Prelude required) as well as digital engagement functionality such as Cheers. Execute build activities aligned with project requirements, best practices, and client standards.
Project Delivery Support: Participate in Epic-related projects including implementations, upgrades, optimizations, and Community Connect engagements. Execute assigned tasks independently and contribute to successful project delivery.
Workflow Translation: Collaborate with consultants and client stakeholders to translate business and operational requirements into effective Epic system configurations, including patient-facing digital workflows.
Testing and Validation: Develop and execute test scripts; support unit, integrated, and user acceptance testing. Troubleshoot issues and ensure system functionality meets design specifications.
Optimization and Enhancements: Identify opportunities for system improvements across patient access and digital engagement tools; recommend configuration changes to enhance efficiency, usability, and patient experience.
Documentation: Create and maintain clear documentation for system build, design decisions, and workflows to support knowledge transfer and long-term sustainability.
Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams including IT, revenue cycle, digital, and project leadership to ensure alignment and successful execution of deliverables.
Qualifications and Desired Skills
3-6+ years of Epic experience with a strong focus on system configuration and build.
Epic Cadence and Cheers certifications required.
Experience with and/or certification in Epic Cheers functionality required.
Experience supporting Epic implementations, upgrades, optimization efforts, and/or Community Connect projects.
Additional Epic certifications (e.g., Referrals, RTE, billing, etc.) preferred but not required.
Strong understanding of Epic system functionality and interdependencies across patient access, digital engagement applications, and the broader revenue cycle.
Ability to translate business requirements into system build.
Experience with testing, validation, and issue resolution.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a project environment.
Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Salary range: $109,000-$145,000, plus may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications, practice area, and other business and organizational needs.
