Job Summary

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys taking ownership of complex, business-critical systems. In this role, you’ll own a key area of our payments dispute resolution platform and help evolve it into a stable, scalable, and reliable product.

You’ll be one of the first LATAM-based engineers joining a small, high-impact team that collaborates closely with an offshore development partner. Our current codebase is a production-ready PHP/CodeIgniter system that grew quickly with a lean team—so yes, there’s technical debt, limited test coverage, and performance challenges. If improving and modernizing real-world systems excites you more than it scares you, this role is for you.

Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of a core business domain and drive it toward stability and reliability

  • Write, review, and refactor code while resolving production issues

  • Systematically reduce technical debt without slowing down product delivery

  • Collaborate closely with our offshore development team

  • Make pragmatic technical decisions that balance short-term impact with long-term maintainability

  • Build foundational testing, monitoring, and documentation that currently don’t exist

Qualifications and Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience;

  • Experience working at a high-growth or scaled company;

  • Strong fundamentals across multiple languages and framework, specially PHP/CodeIgniter and Ruby on Rails;

  • Proven track record of ownership and delivering projects end-to-end;

  • Comfort working independently and making decisions with imperfect information;

  • Availability to work in US or Canada time zones (fully remote).

Familiarity with MySQL/Aurora and AWS environments is a plus.

What We Offer

  • 100% Remote Work: Enjoy the freedom to work from the location that helps you thrive. All it takes is a laptop and a reliable internet connection.

  • Highly Competitive USD Pay: Earn an excellent, market-leading compensation in USD, that goes beyond typical market offerings.

  • Paid Time Off: We value your well-being. Our paid time off policies ensure you have the chance to unwind and recharge when needed.

  • Work with Autonomy: Enjoy the freedom to manage your time as long as the work gets done. Focus on results, not the clock.

  • Work with Top American Companies: Grow your expertise working on innovative, high-impact projects with Industry-Leading U.S. Companies.

Why You’ll Like Working Here

  • A Culture That Values You: We prioritize well-being and work-life balance, offering engagement activities and fostering dynamic teams to ensure you thrive both personally and professionally.

  • Diverse, Global Network: Connect with over 600 professionals in 25+ countries, expand your network, and collaborate with a multicultural team from Latin America.

  • Team Up with Skilled Professionals: Join forces with senior talent. All of our team members are seasoned experts, ensuring you're working with the best in your field.
