About the role:
We're growing our engineering team at Shift and looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help build and maintain high-quality, scalable systems. You’ll be part of a collaborative team that values clean architecture, thoughtful design and reliable delivery.

What you’ll do:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable software applications using C# (.NET) and JavaScript/TypeScript (ReactJS)

  • Work with the team to plan, prioritise and deliver work within agile sprint cycles

  • Contribute to software architecture and solution design, ensuring performance and scalability

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate and deliver technical solutions that align with business goals

  • Champion best practices in engineering standards, testing and continuous improvement

  • Support the team in meeting SLO's and maintaining system reliability

  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to inform development practices

What you’ll bring:

  • 6+ years of experience building software with C# and .NET.

  • 3+ years of experience with React.js (or similar front end frameworks).

  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and event-driven microservices.

  • Experience with Azure or other cloud platforms.

  • Familiarity with modern DevOps practices and tools (e.g. GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Octopus).

  • A mindset that values testing, quality, and reliable delivery.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills - you’re comfortable working cross functionally and contributing your ideas in a team setting.

  • A passion for learning and solving problems – we’re big on curiosity over credentials.
