Full Job Description
ABOUT THE TEAM
Growth Engineering owns the systems that bring users to Mural and help them find value fast—experimentation infrastructure, conversion optimization, and acquisition flows across paid, referral, and organic channels. We work cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, and Data to figure out what users love and deliver it with sustainable economics. The pace is fast, the iteration cycles are short, and the feedback loop between what you ship and business outcomes is immediate and measurable—you'll know whether your work moved the needle.
YOUR MISSION
You will build the systems that help Mural acquire and convert users efficiently at scale. You will design and scale our experimentation platform to run high-volume A/B tests that tell us what users actually want—quickly. You will own cost and revenue attribution infrastructure that keeps our unit economics healthy as we grow. You will help architect product surfaces that serve multiple user personas, and you will open new acquisition channels that expand how users discover Mural. This is high-leverage, high-visibility work—your impact shows up in metrics the business watches closely.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Define and build experimentation capabilities: Design how we run experiments across the product—A/B testing, feature entitlements, audience targeting. You'll own the requirements and build product-facing pieces, partnering with platform engineers on underlying systems that other teams will leverage
Own attribution and unit economics: Partner with the Data Platform team to build cost/revenue attribution pipelines that give us clear visibility into CAC-to-LTV across channels—this directly informs where we invest
Expand acquisition channels: Develop and optimize paid and organic acquisition flows, from landing pages to referral mechanics to SEO infrastructure
Shape product architecture for growth: Collaborate with Product and Design to build surfaces that convert different user personas, iterating rapidly based on data
Drive technical quality in a fast-moving environment: Balance speed with sustainability—know when to cut scope, when to take on debt strategically, and when to invest in foundations
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Strong fullstack engineering skills: 5+ years shipping production code, ideally in Node.js/TypeScript and React, though we welcome engineers from other modern stacks who adapt quickly. Our stack includes TypeScript, Node, React, MongoDB, some Python, Databricks, and deploys to Azure and AWS.
Experience with high-iteration product work: You've worked in environments where you ship frequently, measure outcomes, and iterate based on what you learn—not just what you planned
Data fluency: Comfortable working with analytics pipelines, designing for measurability, and making decisions based on experiment results rather than intuition alone
Ownership mentality: You see gaps and fill them. You're accountable for outcomes, not just the code you wrote. In a remote team of ~5 engineers, you execute independently but know when to overcommunicate and pull others in.
An outcome-oriented and highly-experimental interest in AI-driven development practices: You're actively incorporating AI tools throughout your workflow—or eager to start
Nice to have:
Background in growth engineering at a PLG, D2C, or marketplace company where you owned acquisition or conversion metrics
Experience with billing systems (Stripe or similar) and subscription/payment flows
Background in SEO, paid acquisition infrastructure, or marketing technology
Familiarity with experimentation platforms or feature flagging systems at scale
Equal Opportunity
We will ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment. Please contact us to request accommodation.
