Your Role
As a Senior Revenue Accountant at Zip, you will be a key pillar of our finance team, responsible for the integrity of our revenue recognition processes. You will manage the end-to-end revenue cycle, ensure compliance with ASC 606, and provide actionable insights into our top-line growth. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building scalable processes from the ground up.
You Will
Review customer contracts and determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment under ASC 606, including documenting nonstandard terms.
Own key area of the monthly and quarterly close; including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Collaborate with the Product and Operations to ensure data relied upon for revenue accounting is complete and accurate.
Support external and internal audits by providing documentation, analysis, and explanations of revenue-related transactions.
Drive process improvements and automations within the revenue recognition cycle to enhance efficiency and scalability.
Prepare ad-hoc revenue analyses for management to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
3+ years of relevant work experience; public accounting experience preferred
Strong, in-depth understanding of GAAP (specifically ASC 606) and the proven ability to research technical accounting topics.
Attention to detail, strong planning and organization skills, and the ability to multi-task, prioritize and deliver in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel is required
Experience with Netsuite or other ERP systems is a plus
Proven ability to quickly learn and work with various software platforms
The salary range for this role is $115,000 - $145,000. The salary for this position is determined based on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant experience, education, or particular skills and expertise.
