If you value teamwork, ownership, and solving tough problems, Flock could be the place for you.The SkillsetBachelor s, Master s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field5+ years of experience developing end-to-end testing frameworks for products with complex, multi-layer technology stacksStrong proficiency in scripting test automation (e.g. with Python)Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tooling (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.)Working knowledge of containerization and cloud environments (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS)Experience with modern service communication frameworks (gRPC, Protobuf, REST/HTTP APIs, or comparable systems)Comfortable operating in Linux-based development environmentThe ideal candidate will have:Proficiency with C, C++, Java, and/or KotlinExperience with Android hardware testing (AOSP CTS/VTS)Experience with real-time communication technologies (WebRTC, SIP/RTP, low-latency streaming, or similar peer-to-peer protocols)Familiarity with observability and analytics platforms (Grafana, Sigma) and SQL databases (PostgreSQL)Test automation experience for robotic or mission-critical systemsFeeling uneasy that you haven t ticked every box? This serves as a preview of the 90 day plan you will receive if you were to be hired in this role at Flock Safety.The First 30 DaysLearn the product goals and overall system architecture for the aviation hardware platform.Acquire and set up the necessary hardware and software tools to work within the development ecosystem.Become familiar with the CI/CD pipeline used for the embedded software stack.Participate in the bring-up and validation of the control system using a local development kit.The First 60 DaysDemonstrate simulated control of the hardware system across different layers of the technical stack.Review the API interactions between the existing software platform and the microcontroller unit (MCU).Document test cases required for a new test framework, including key signal injection points.Deepen understanding of the broader organization and overall product portfolio.90 Days &amp; BeyondSupport the automated testing and validation of the next-generation hardware solution with CI/CD integration.Build and maintain a comprehensive suite of automated tests as part of the continuous integration and validation process.Develop a support and deployment plan for rolling out next-generation hardware to customers.Salary &amp; EquityIn this role, you ll receive a starting salary between $140,000 - $213,000 as well as Flock Safety Stock Options. Base salary is determined by job-related experience, education/training, as well as market indicators.
