We are looking for a Senior Product Design Manager to lead a talented team of designers within our EPM (Enterprise Password Manager) group, focused on empowering enterprise administrators to secure their workforce day-to-day by delivering reliable, intuitive experiences that meet the real needs of customers operating at scale. EPM is a foundational product area at 1Password and a critical platform for future growth across the business, including our XAM and AI initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to lead design in a complex, high-impact space, evolving a mature product for the future while raising the bar on quality, usability and customer trust.

As a Senior Manager, Product Design, you’ll lead design efforts across key admin and workforce security experiences. You’ll collaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering, GTM and other partners to balance near-term improvements with long-term vision. We’re seeking a strategic, hands-on leader who is deeply customer-centric, thrives in complexity and has the rigour to push quality forward alongside innovation.

With strong communication and collaboration skills, you’ll help align teams around a clear design vision while supporting your designers to grow, iterate and deliver meaningful outcomes for customers. You’re a leader who rolls up their sleeves to help solve problems, knows how to work through technical limitations and establishes the right level of process. You advocate for quality without blocking momentum. With a high bar for craft, a pragmatic mindset and a passion for helping your team grow, you make consistent progress and shape the future of the product.

This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the US.

What you will do:

  • Lead the product design team for 1Password’s EPM admin experience, focused on securing enterprise workforces and supporting admins in their day-to-day workflows

  • Drive end-to-end design through your team for intuitive admin solutions, improving usability, clarity and consistency while navigating technical constructions

  • Raise the quality bar across the EPM experience by addressing UX and design debt and evolving systems thoughtfully over time

  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering to balance customer needs, technical constraints and long-term vision

  • Support and influence broader product direction by helping EPM serve as a strong foundation for adjacent areas (e.g. XAM, AI, Managed Service Providers)

  • Coach and develop a team of strong product and content designers, fostering growth, accountability and design excellence

  • Plan design team performance, workload, and career development, supporting your team's growth and success


What you bring:

  • Design Expertise: 6-8+ years in product design, with experience in UX, systems design, UI, and information architecture at scale in a B2B SaaS environment, with a high bar for quality and strong design judgement. Experience designing for cybersecurity products with a strong understanding of how to create secure yet user-friendly experiences is a plus.

  • Proven Product Leadership: 5+ years of managing design teams and projects with measurable impact on organizational success.

  • Mentorship & Growth: A proven track record of coaching and developing design teams to reach their full potential.

  • Strategic & Hands-on Leadership: Balancing long-term strategy with short-term goals, inspiring your team to take action and drive results.

  • Effective Communication: Ability to clearly articulate design value and lead the design process from start to finish.

  • Collaborative Partner: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and marketing.

  • Growth Mindset: Passion for continuous learning and leading scalable, high-impact design teams.

  • Project Management: Ability to align your team with the right processes to deliver solutions in a fast-paced environment.

  • Talent Recruitment: Helping recruit and onboard top talent to build a strong, capable design team.

  • AI leadership: Familiarity and curiosity with using AI to support and enhance design work, as well as leveraging AI within the product to creatively solve customer problems.

What you can expect:
Month 1

  • Establish relationships with cross-functional partners (Product, Engineering, Marketing) to understand priorities, product strategy, and the EPM roadmap.

  • Understand current team strengths, areas of opportunity, workflows, and ongoing design initiatives.

  • Gain familiarity with 1Password’s product suite, design system, and customer pain points, particularly around secure access and control.

Month 3

  • Drive delivery of impactful design improvements for EPM, showing measurable improvement in usability, quality and customer experience.

  • Guide design work and mentor team members through feedback and development conversations, beginning to shape career paths and growth opportunities.

  • Contribute to the design leadership team helping to shape product cohesion, team culture and drive experience goals.

Month 6

  • Help define and communicate design vision for EPM that aligns with company strategy and supports future growth across the business.

  • Champion design within the broader org by advocating for user-centered decisions, influencing product direction, and demonstrating design’s business impact.

  • Partner with recruiting to identify and onboard new design talent as needed, while fostering a culture of innovation, curiosity, and continuous improvement.

USA-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $206,000 USD and $299,000 USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.

Canada-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $188,000 CAD and $272,000 CAD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s generous benefits program (health, dental, RRSP and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
