We’ve helped companies reduce fraud by 95% and achieve 32x ROI, and we’re growing fast, thanks to our partnerships with some of the world’s most ambitious digital brands like Revolut, Wise, and Bilt.

The Platform Engineering team at SEON is the engine of our technical velocity. The Platform Engineering team is dedicated to building the core infrastructure and pipelines that empower our product engineers to ship code securely, rapidly, and autonomously. We treat our platform as a product and our developers as our customers, striving to remove friction and reduce cognitive load across the entire software delivery lifecycle.

We seek a visionary and experienced Senior Manager of Platform Engineering to lead a team of Platform Engineers. You will play a crucial role in architecting the "Golden Paths" that standardize and accelerate our development processes, ensuring that our infrastructure scales in lockstep with our rapid business growth. You will collaborate closely with Software Engineering, Data, and SRE teams to synthesize requirements into a cohesive platform strategy. You will have a proven track record of leading top-performing teams in complex, fast-paced environments and will excel in organizing and motivating a team amidst rapid growth and change.

This role offers flexibility. It can be based in Budapest with a hybrid schedule or anywhere in the European Union with a remote setup, including occasional travel to our other offices.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Lead and grow a high-performing Platform Engineering team responsible for our cloud architecture, CI/CD pipelines, and core infrastructure provisioning.

  • Champion a "Platform as a Product" mindset, working with DevEx to identify and understand friction points of the platform and driving the adoption of self-service tools that improve ownership throughout engineering.

  • Design and maintain "Golden Paths"—standardized, automated templates for microservices and infrastructure that allow developers to deploy safely and quickly without needing deep infrastructure expertise.

  • Drive the strategy for the platform, managing the roadmap to balance long-term architectural improvements with immediate tooling needs.

  • Collaborate deeply with the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Manager to ensure that platform templates automatically enforce reliability standards (SLOs, error budgets) and facilitate "Compliance by Design."

  • Automate compliance and security controls (e.g., for SOC2, ISO certifications) directly into the delivery pipeline, ensuring governance does not become a bottleneck for velocity.

  • Oversee cloud architecture, managing our AWS footprint to ensure cost-efficiency, scalability, and proper resource governance across all environments.

  • Define and track success metrics such as DORA metrics (Deployment Frequency, Lead Time for Changes) and developer satisfaction scores to measure the impact of the platform team.

  • Provide mentorship, performance reviews, and career development opportunities for Platform Engineering team members, fostering a culture of empathy and technical excellence.

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, advocating for the platform strategy and translating technical improvements into business value.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

  • Proven success in leading Platform Engineering or DevOps teams in a large-scale, fast-paced environment.

  • Extensive experience with cloud-native architectures, specifically AWS and Kubernetes, and a deep understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.

  • Strategic vision to balance the need for standardization (governance) with developer autonomy (innovation).

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with product developers, SREs, and executive stakeholders.

  • Experience with modern CI/CD and Observability ecosystems (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog) and how to integrate them into a seamless developer workflow.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on systemic improvements and root cause analysis of process inefficiencies.

  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, vendor relationships, and cross-functional projects simultaneously.

(AMAZING IF YOU ALSO HAVE):

  • Cloud Architect Certification in one of the public clouds (AWS, GCP, Azure).

  • Background in Fintech or experience with "Compliance as Code" in regulated industries.

  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or similar technical certifications.
