Senior Frontend Engineer

Reporting to the Lead Development Engineer and working within an experienced and collaborative development team, you will be tasked with building performant, scalable, and sustainable frontend application architecture and software.Your responsibilities will include:Working with the technology team in the adoption and maintenance of modern (agile) software engineering practicesBuilding and integrating dynamic, responsive user interfaces using Vue.js and related frontend technologiesSupporting critical technology incidents as needed, including identifying and resolving frontend errors using tools like Sentry Working in technology architecture, scalability, security, and performance initiativesDelivering high-quality hands-on engineering work in line with the companies commercial objectivesMentoring other frontend engineers and team membersTracking and driving to completion all of the platform focus group's deliverablesWorking within defined project management guidelines and security best practiceContributing technology inputs to the product team and roadmap discussionsBe the champion in delivering scalable, robust, commercially viable technology outcomes for the company and become a cultural change agent within the technology group to focus on engineering best-in-breed, commercially viable technology outcomes for the business.RequirementsMinimum 5 years of professional experience in frontend developmentStrong experience with Vue.js and related ecosystem tools (Vuex, Vue Router, TanStack Query etc.)5+Experienced in any Web Development fieldsProficient in HTML5, CSS3 (SASS/SCSS), JavaScript (ES6+)Experience building responsive, cross-browser compatible interfacesFamiliarity with testing tools and frameworks such as Jest, Cypress,Playwright, or similarGood understanding of RESTful APIs and integrating with backend servicesExperience identifying performance bottlenecks and optimising frontend applicationsHave worked in teams of 3 or more developersGood understanding of pair programming and in pair code reviewsExperience and understanding of CI/CD tools such as CircleCIWorked in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban)Basic understanding of backend technologies such as Ruby on Rails is a plusFamiliarity with design systems, component libraries, and accessibility standardsYour Attributes: Confident and autonomous(You write performant, scalable, efficient code(You take pride in your work(You have good (written/verbal) communication skills and contribute regularly (to architectural and team discussions(You arent afraid of making and learning from mistakes(You share and communicate your knowledge with the team(TDD and BDD by defaultSome knowledge/interest in other technologies we use, React native, Serverless, Nodejs, Ruby on RailsAbout the companyShiftCare s innovative software platform helps Australia s disability support providers, in-home aged carers and allied health professionals, streamline the way they do things.By creating efficiencies in rostering, client management and billing, we enable businesses to grow, while creating more time for what matters most supporting clients, and helping them lead healthier, happier lives.
