The Role

Orum's Engineering Team plays a pivotal role in driving this vision forward. A remote-first company since the beginning, we're tackling some of the toughest challenges sales teams face, and there’s still so much to build. In this role, you’ll lead a team of full-stack engineers and have the opportunity to directly impact our product suite and grow and mentor your team. Our current technology stack includes NodeJS, Typescript, React, Postgres, Google Cloud Platform, and FreeSWITCH.

What you'll do

  • Empower and scale a world-class team through leadership, hiring, coaching, and performance management

  • Dive into technical challenges, contribute to architecture reviews, and ensure engineering excellence through creating a strong culture of simple, maintainable, and well-tested code

  • Collaborate with design and product management to define and communicate product vision and technical architecture to your team

  • Shape and delegate engineering tasks, ensuring clarity, alignment, and progress

  • Enable your team to thrive by unblocking challenges, reviewing code, and solving interesting problems

What we're looking for

  • 3+ years managing software engineering teams that have shipped high-value SaaS products.

  • Experience managing remote, distributed teams

  • Understand customer pain points and solve end-to-end issues 

  • Deep appreciation for simple, maintainable, and well-tested code—and the ability to coach your team to deliver it

  • Passion for empowering and mentoring engineers, and previous experience with hiring for an engineering team

  • Hands-on experience with our stack or related stack will be an added advantage: NodeJS, TypeScript, React, PostgreSQL, Google Cloud Platform, and FreeSWITCH.
