This leader will manage a diverse portfolio of critical company-wide efforts, acting as the ultimate steward of our >$1 billion annual spend on cloud resources. We are seeking a visionary who will raise the engineering bar for capacity, performance, and efficiency modelling, disaster recovery strategy, cost attribution, accelerate new hardware enablement, identify and drive big efficiency initiatives, and work closely with the Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) to help shape the future of the industry.

IN THIS ROLE AT SNOWFLAKE, YOU WILL:
Recruit, mentor, and scale a high-performing, global engineering organization. Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, and engineering excellence.
Define the long-term technical vision and organizational structure for the Capacity, Performance and Efficiency organization, ensuring alignment with Snowflake's product evolution and business goals.
Lead the technical and business strategy for the Data & AI Cloud’s resource management organization.
Act as the senior engineering authority in customer engagements. Partner closely with major CSP’s and Snowflake teams to understand their needs and ensure our platform is the most efficient, performant and has sufficient capacity to drive tangible business impact.
Serve as the engineering voice in strategic planning cycles, influencing headcount, budget, and product roadmaps. Forge strong partnerships with Product, Data Science, Finance, and Sales teams to deliver cohesive and innovative solutions.
Drive continuous improvement in cloud resource management and best practices.
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE:
BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related majors, or equivalent experience.
14+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 4 years in an Engineering Director or Senior Director role leading experienced 2 line managers.
Strong candidates will have deep technical expertise and proven experience in Cloud Capacity, Performance, and/or Efficiency, demonstrating proficiency in at least one domain and ideally multiple.
Strong track record of delivering Cloud Cost, Efficiency or performance initiatives at large-scale enterprise environments.
Proven experience scaling engineering organizations, including managing teams across multiple geographic locations.
Proven and exceptional ability to partner with cross-functional partners such as Product, Sales, Finance, Data Science and Customer Success teams while working directly with customers and CSP’s to achieve business outcomes.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate a technical vision and strategy to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strategic mindset combined with strong project management and execution capabilities.
