Job Summary

The Senior Database Developer will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and implementation of enterprise-level data warehouse systems and solutions. This role involves working closely with business users to gather requirements, understand internal and external data dependencies, and translate business needs into scalable data architectures. The position requires strong expertise in data warehousing, data modeling, and SQL development, as well as leadership across the full Systems Development Lifecycle to ensure high-performance, reliable, and secure data platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain relational and dimensional databases for data warehouses and data marts.

  • Create entity relationship diagrams, data dictionaries, and data mapping documentation.

  • Develop and implement solutions using advanced Transact-SQL, including stored procedures, ETL, and OLAP tools.

  • Monitor, tune, and optimize queries and data loads to ensure performance and reliability

  • Support users by addressing data integrity questions and resolving functional and technical issues.

  • Perform code inspections and refactor code to meet quality and performance standards.

  • Participate in data model reviews, walkthroughs, and performance analysis.

  • Assist with application and module performance optimization.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrate behaviors aligned with the organization’s culture and values.

Qualifications and Job Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience with scripting or programming languages such as Python, Perl, PowerShell, C#, or Java.

  • Strong experience designing complex SQL queries and business components.

  • Experience developing OLAP cubes and working with data visualization technologies.

  • Hands-on experience with ETL processes and data warehouse environments.

  • Ability to perform routine DBA tasks, including access policies, data migrations, ETL operations, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.

  • Solid understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling.

  • Financial Services experience preferred, ideally within the mortgage industry.

  • Python scripting and/or SQL scripting.

  • OLAP cubes.

  • Data visualization.

  • DBA tasks (access, migrations, ETL, troubleshooting, optimization).
