We are supporting a specialized VC firm in financial services, with offices in New York, London, and Berlin, focused on building, backing, and buying technology-enabled financial and business services companies. The firm is incubating a new insurtech venture aimed at digitizing life-insurance distribution across North America and expanding into wealth-advisory use cases. You will join as a Founding Data Engineer, designing and implementing the venture s core data platform. You ll collaborate with product, engineering, and operations to build scalable data models, pipelines, and integrations that enable high-quality decision-making.ResponsibilitiesDesign and maintain Snowflake data models supporting analytics and core application workflows.Build and manage data ingestion, transformation, and processing pipelines.Architect event-driven data ingestion using AWS services.Implement Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, and related Snowflake capabilities.Build data quality, lineage, and observability mechanisms.Ensure high data reliability, performance, and security.Collaborate on data modeling to support internal and external reporting.Requirements5+ years in data engineeringBachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.Strong experience with Snowflake: schema + table design, snowpipe, streams, tasksStrong SQL skillsExperience building event-driven pipelinesExperience with ETL/data pipelinesStrong understanding of data modeling and warehouse designAbility to collaborate closely with engineering and product teamsNice to haveExperience with financial or insurance dataExperience building hybrid data architecturesAdditional Information1-year contract with extensions based on performanceCompetitive USD hourly rates aligned to experienceRemote in Latin America (EST)
