Senior Associate Scientist/Scientist, Assay Development:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Associate Scientist/Scientist to join our custom Assay Development team, who has hands-on experience developing and validating custom ultrasensitive immunoassays for clients.
The ideal candidate will support the full lifecycle of assay development, from initial concept and research to validation and assay transfer. This individual will play a pivotal role in advancing Spear Bio’s new range of custom ultrasensitive immunoassays and assay biomarker programs.
This role is based onsite in our lab in Woburn, MA 5 days/week.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and optimize ultrasensitive blood-based immunoassays to support Spear Bio’s product pipeline.
Execute immunoassay workflows with a focus on high-throughput and semi-automated platforms.
Perform comprehensive troubleshooting to resolve technical challenges and improve assay performance.
Optimize methods for processing different types of clinical samples for assay development.
Serve as a technical lead for custom assay development projects and interface directly with customers.
Requirements:
MS or PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering or a related discipline plus minimum of 3 years of academic lab immunoassay development experience; or 1+ year of industry immunoassay development experience.
Direct experience running immunoassays is required for consideration.
Hands-on experience utilizing ultrasensitive platforms like Simoa, MSD, Lumipulse, and/or homebrew platforms for novel immunoassay development
Previous experience with customer assay development is strongly preferred
Strong experience troubleshooting complex, ultrasensitive immunoassays
Strong proficiency in molecular biology lab techniques

· Excellent organizational and documentation skills
