This is a hands-on individual contributor role, ideal for someone who enjoys diving into complex accounting, driving special projects, and strengthening compliance processes without direct people management responsibilities.You will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of our financial reporting, managing technical accounting areas, and supporting both domestic and international compliance (including direct and indirect taxes). If you are a self-starter who is passionate about continuous learning and growth, this role offers the opportunity to stretch your expertise and influence key financial operations.What you will be doing:Own and execute complex accounting tasks, including consolidations, intercompany transactions, and technical accounting assessments.Partner closely with the Controller and Corporate Controller on month-end and quarter-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting.Drive special accounting and compliance projects such as system implementations, process automation, and new entity integrations.Support indirect and direct tax compliance, coordinating with internal teams and external advisors as needed.Analyze and interpret evolving accounting standards and assist in implementing necessary updates to policies or procedures.Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement support with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.Lead the annual external audit, serving as the primary liaison with auditors to ensure all deliverables are accurate, complete, and delivered on timeCollaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, operations, and legal teams to support business initiatives and ensure accounting alignment.Identify and recommend process improvements to streamline workflows and enhance internal controls.What type of skills are required:Bachelor s degree in a relevant field; CPA is strongly preferred7+ years progressive accounting experience, ideally with a mix of public accounting and industryStrong GAAP knowledge; experience with consolidations, multi-entity environments, external audit, and tax compliance (direct/indirect)Experience with ERP system implementation (NetSuite preferred) a plusSelf-motivated, curious, and comfortable working independently in a dynamic, evolving environmentExcellent communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with leadership and cross-functional teamsWhy people love working here:We offer meaningful work and opportunities for career growthComprehensive benefits package (Medical, Dental, Vision)100% Company paid Life Insurance, Long Term Disability, and Short-Term Disability coverage401k with company matchPaid vacation and general holidaysEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Live Meditation SessionsEmployee Recognition PlatformVirtual Wellness Program Hybrid/Remote Work Environment and always will be!Visionary Leadership TeamZonda exists to inform, advise and connect the next generation of housing industry experts, leveraging the information, insights, and people that move the industry forward.
