About the role...

We’re looking for a Recruiter II to hire exceptional talent for Duolingo’s Business, Marketing, and Creative teams. You’ll run full‑cycle searches, partnering closely with hiring managers to define profiles, build strong pipelines, and deliver a white‑glove candidate experience. You’ll balance speed and quality, use data to inform decisions, and help maintain Duolingo’s high talent bar.

 

🧠  You will...

  • Own full‑cycle recruiting for roles in our Design, Marketing, and Business functions (intake, sourcing, assessments, offers), driving efficient, high‑quality hiring outcomes. 
  • Partner with hiring managers to align on role requirements, interview plans, and timelines; help set clear expectations and keep searches on track.
  • Support intake meetings and recruiting syncs by sharing updates, surfacing insights, and recommending next steps.
  • Review candidate portfolios and help assess design quality and craft in alignment with Duolingo’s aesthetic and standards.
  • Execute strong recruiting operations: manage timelines, track progress, and proactively communicate status updates and risks.
  • Deliver an excellent candidate experience with timely communication, structured assessments, and clear feedback loops from first touch to close.
  • Use data to inform your work: monitor funnel health, identify trends, and suggest improvements to your searches.
  • Use a mix of internal and third-party tools, including AI.

 

✅  You have...

  • 3+ years of full‑cycle recruiting experience, including sourcing and closing for creative, business, and/or marketing roles.
  • Experience hiring for moderately complex roles (e.g., industry hires, early-career or internship roles, or program management roles).
  • Portfolio review experience, with the ability to recognize creative excellence.
  • Ability to manage multiple searches at once while maintaining strong organization and candidate experience.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; you build trust and keep hiring partners aligned.
  • Experience using recruiting data (e.g., pipeline metrics, conversion rates) to inform your approach.
  • Experience ideating, building, and experimenting with AI tools, like ChatGPT.
  • Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) to support recruiting workflows.
  • Ability to work from or relocate to Pittsburgh, PA.

  • Deep knowledge of the creative and marketing hiring landscape, including current trends and platforms.
  • Experience recruiting in tech, startups, or high-growth companies.
  • Experience with tools like Gem, Brighthire, Guide, and Greenhouse.

This is not inclusive of the rest of our awesome portfolio that includes equity compensation and world-class benefits. Our salary ranges are the same for all US locations. Your recruiter can share more details about the range for a specific level during the hiring process. The actual salary within the range is determined by many factors including but not limited to, skills, experience, education, and internal equity.

Salary Range:

$119,000—$161,000 USD
