Full Job Description

Dandy is transforming the massive and antiquated dental industry—an industry worth over $400B. Backed by some of the world’s leading venture capital firms, we’re on an ambitious mission to simplify and modernize every function of the dental practice through technology. As we expand our reach globally, Dandy is building the operating system for dental offices around the world—empowering clinicians and their teams with technology, innovation, and world-class support to achieve more for their practices, their people, and their patients.

About the Role

Dandy is looking for a Production Flow Supervisor to join our brand-new Indianapolis facility as a critical "founding member" of our leadership team. Think of this role as the "Air Traffic Controller" for our Advanced Automated Manufacturing Center. While Department Managers and Shift Supervisors focus on their specific teams, you will own the birds-eye view of the entire facility.

You will be responsible for developing the systems that monitor backlog, WIP, and capacity across our "4 corners" and ensuring that all 4 shifts operate with unified consistency. Your mission is to provide the real-time data and operational rigor that enables leadership to pivot instantly, ensuring every order is fabricated and shipped on time.

Onboarding & Travel This role requires up to 30% travel during the first 1–2 months for training at our hubs in Provo, UT or Dallas, TX.

What You’ll Do

  • System Development: Build and maintain the monitoring systems for backlog, WIP (Work in Progress), and capacity by product line across the facility’s "4 corners."

  • Operational Rigor: Develop and enforce a unified system for customer order dwell time monitoring to ensure no order is left behind.

  • Shift Consistency: Standardize order handling protocols across all 4 shifts to ensure 24/7 consistency and schedule adherence.

  • The "Bird’s Eye View": Monitor real-time facility health and proactively advise Department Managers, Supervisors, and Leads on when and where to pivot resources to clear bottlenecks.

  • Material Flow & Layout: Own process improvement initiatives related to material flow and facility layout changes to optimize throughput as we scale.

  • On-Time Execution: Drive the operational heartbeat of the facility to ensure 100% on-time fabrication and shipment targets are met daily.

  • Cross-Functional Synergy: Act as the technical bridge between floor operations and data teams to ensure our visibility tools are accurate and actionable.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience: 5+ years in high-volume manufacturing with a heavy focus on Production Control, Planning, or Industrial Engineering.

  • Systems Thinker: Proven ability to develop complex monitoring systems from scratch in an automated manufacturing environment.

  • Analytical Prowess: Expert at interpreting WIP and capacity data to make high-stakes, real-time operational recommendations.

  • Launch Mentality: You thrive in the "building phase" and are comfortable creating structure where none currently exists.

  • Digital Proficiency: High level of comfort with GSuite (Google Docs, Sheets, etc.) and Slack to communicate facility status.

  • The "Vibe" Factor: A high-energy "people person" with a great sense of humor who can stay calm under pressure and lead through influence across all shifts.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Deep understanding of Lean Manufacturing, bottleneck analysis, and Material Flow.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering and Operations to implement layout changes.

  • Strong communication skills; ability to present complex flow data in a way that is easily understood by floor leads.

Bonus Points For

  • Experience with Industrial Engineering and facility layout software.

  • Previously established production control departments in a greenfield facility launch.

  • Background in high-tech hardware or automated medical device manufacturing.
