Full Job Description

The Progress product is the foundation everything else at Stellic is built on. Every student plan, every advisor conversation, every graduation clearance starts with an accurate representation of where a student stands against their degree requirements. We're looking for a Product Lead who wants to own that foundation — and who thinks like a lead, not a contributor.

ABOUT US

We're building a future where every student can move through their education with clarity, confidence, and purpose. Our platform transforms the student experience, giving them the tools they need to make the right decisions about their degree plans, track their journey, and build an education and career path that's truly their own.

Stellic is a fast-growing startup backed by leading social impact investors, partnering with top institutions like Cornell, Columbia, UVA, and Ohio State to support over 1 million students across 7 countries. As we scale to serve more universities worldwide, we remain deeply committed to this mission, driven by our values, and committed to building a high-performance team that's here to make a lasting difference on both students' lives and higher education.

ABOUT YOU

You've built complex products before — the kind where accuracy isn't a nice-to-have, it's the whole game. You think like an owner: you don't wait to be told what to build, you figure out what matters and make it happen. You go deep with engineers rather than around them, and you hold yourself accountable for outcomes, not output. You're ready to be the own the customer impact of a product that genuinely matters.

AS OUR PRODUCT LEAD FOR PROGRESS, YOU WILL OWN

  • The Progress product, end to end: You're the ultimate owner of one of Stellic's core products — responsible for how universities define academic requirements and how we evaluate every student's progress against them. Everything downstream depends on getting this right.

  • Problem decomposition: You'll take long-horizon, ambiguous challenges and break them into concrete, iterative steps that deliver real value while moving toward the bigger picture.

  • Engineering partnership: You'll work daily with our engineering teams in the US and Pakistan — not handing over specs, but thinking through trade-offs, system design, problem solving and architecture decisions together.

  • University partner relationships: You'll join discovery calls, build trust with academic institutions, and translate what you hear into decisions that scale across many schools, not just one.

  • Pattern recognition at scale: You'll identify what's common across universities — even when they describe their needs differently — and design solutions that serve many without building one-offs.

  • The long game for Progress: Every feature you ship should connect to where this product is going. You'll hold both the immediate problem and the long-term vision at the same time, and make the call when they're in tension.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL, YOU SHOULD HAVE

  • 8+ years of PM experience with clear growth in scope and ownership over time

  • Genuine 0→1 ownership — you were the person who defined the problem, made the key calls, and was accountable for the outcome

  • Experience in complex, accuracy-critical enterprise B2B — fintech compliance, data governance, healthcare systems, legal tech, or similar domains where being wrong has real consequences

    • Technical depth without needing to write code — comfortable in architecture discussions, able to reason through trade-offs, and capable of going deep on a problem you haven't seen before and think through solutions with engineers vs just handing off problems

  • Strong discovery instincts — you talk directly to customers, push past stated requirements to find the underlying need, and use data to validate what you're hearing

  • An ownership mindset — you feel the weight of the outcome and act accordingly

  • Clear, engaging communication — you can make a complex decision feel obvious in hindsight, whether you're talking to a university partner or an engineer

WHY YOU'LL LOVE WORKING AT STELLIC

  • Thrive in a flexible, outcome-driven culture built on trust and autonomy.

  • 401(k), commuter benefits, and annual international retreats in incredible locations.
