This role blends hands-on development with strategic leadership, focusing on secure, scalable systems deployed on Azure and powered by JBoss middleware.What You'll Do:Technical LeadershipArchitect and lead development of full stack enterprise applications using Java, J2EE, Spring, and related technologies.Oversee middleware integration and optimization using JBoss and other Java EE containers.Define and enforce secure coding practices, identity management, and application-level security protocols.Lead cloud-native transformation and deployment strategies on Microsoft Azure.Evaluate and implement DevSecOps practices across CI/CD pipelines.Management & MentorshipLead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering growth and technical excellence.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Security, and Infrastructure.Drive hiring, onboarding, and performance management for engineering staff.Hands-On EngineeringWrite and review high-quality code across backend (Java/J2EE) and frontend (React, Angular, or similar).Optimize performance, scalability, and reliability of distributed systems.Manage API design, microservices architecture, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).Implement and maintain robust security controls including OAuth2, SAML, and role-based access.What You May Need to be Successful:Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (required)10+ years of experience in software engineering, with deep expertise in Java/J2EE stack3+ years in a technical leadership or director-level roleStrong experience with JBoss, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and RESTful servicesProven track record of deploying secure applications on Azure cloudSolid understanding of application security, encryption, and compliance standardsExperience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)Certifications in Azure Architecture or Security, preferredExperience with identity platforms (e.g., Azure AD, Okta). preferredFamiliarity with container orchestration and service mesh technologies, preferredBackground in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, government), preferredWhy First Advantage is Your Next Big Career MoveFirst Advantage is going through a technology transformation!
