The Internship Opportunity:

We are looking for a proactive Field Testing & Dataset Creation Intern to capture real-world sensor data and turn it into compelling visual content and product insights. This role is uniquely cross-functional, you will record LiDAR datasets for engineering validation and curate real-world footage to support marketing, customer demos, and product storytelling.

This is a great role for someone who wants exposure to both cutting-edge sensor technology and tech storytelling/marketing.

Timeframe: This internship lasts 2–6 months with a minimum commitment of 16 hours per week, and there is potential to convert to a full-time role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute field dataset collection runs across diverse environments (urban, industrial, robots, vehicles, indoor/outdoor)

• Operate Voyant LiDAR hardware during tests and demos

• Capture synchronized sensor data + supporting video and photos

• Organize and label datasets for engineering use (point clouds, imagery, documentation)

• Assist in converting raw sensor results into:

  • Product demo videos

  • Website and presentation visuals

  • Customer-facing performance clips

  • Benchmark and comparison visuals

• Document test conditions, setups, and results

• Provide structured feedback to hardware and perception teams

• Support content editing and visualization (light video editing and graphical overlays — training provided if needed)

Qualifications: 

• Pursuing degree in Robotics, Engineering, Computer Vision, or related technical field
  OR degree in Multimedia, Design, Film, Product Marketing with technical interest

• Comfortable working hands-on with equipment in the field

• Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline

• Basic scripting or data tools (Python, MATLAB, or ROS) a plus

• Basic video/photo editing skills a plus (Premiere, Final Cut, DaVinci, or equivalent)

• Interest in sensors, robotics, imaging, or visualization tech

Nice To Have Skills:

• Familiarity with LiDAR or depth cameras (e.g., Ouster, Hesai, Intel RealSense)

• Experience with RViz, Open3D, Blender, or point-cloud tools

• Driving license for mobile collection setups

• Experience with drones, robots, or autonomy platforms
