Full Job Description
Profound is on a mission to help companies understand and control their AI presence. We created a new practice area called Marketing Engineering, and we are hiring the person who will teach it to the world.
There are no textbooks for Marketing Engineering. No established curricula. No credentialing bodies. The knowledge lives in the heads of a handful of practitioners, and the market is moving faster than anyone can document it. You will build Profound University’s course catalog from the ground up, writing, filming, and producing the content that defines an entirely new discipline.
You have done something like this before. You have taught in a bootcamp, immersive program, or cohort-based platform that changed people’s careers. You can turn complex, ambiguous material into a structured learning path that makes someone genuinely capable of doing new work. You are exceptional on camera, and you can concept a course, script it, film it, ship it, and improve it the next week. You treat curriculum like a product with versions, metrics, and iteration cycles.
What you’ll do
Design, script, film, and produce 8 to 12 complete courses in year one, owning everything from learning objectives to assessments
Serve as a primary on-camera voice of Profound University, teaching with energy and authority
Architect the full course catalog and learning paths across introductory, practitioner, and advanced certification tracks
Write certification rubrics with deliberate difficulty scaling
Build curriculum rooted in Marketing Engineering as a discipline, not product walkthroughs, but structured thinking that makes someone genuinely effective in the field
Own the full production workflow including scripting, filming, review, and iteration at high volume without sacrificing rigor
Collaborate with Data, Research, Marketing, and Product teams to translate evolving frameworks into current curriculum
Design assessments that test applied competency such as recorded walkthroughs, live builds, and diagnostic exercises
Continuously version and update courses as the discipline evolves
Who you are
Experience building and delivering courses in an immersive, career-focused environment such as a bootcamp, professional certificate program, or cohort-based platform
Exceptional on camera, clear, engaging, and confident teaching complex material
Experience building curriculum in emerging fields where no textbook exists
Exceptional writer capable of translating dense technical concepts into practical instruction
Systems thinker who designs progression paths and feedback loops rather than isolated lessons
Comfortable shipping multiple courses per year without sacrificing rigor
Deeply curious about AI, search, and how information discovery is changing
Motivated by learner outcomes above all else, focused on whether students can actually apply what they learn
Location
This is an on-site role based in our Union Square, NYC office, designed for builders who thrive on speed, iteration, and meaningful impact.
For this role, the expected base salary range is $150,000 to $210,000. Profound's total compensation package is designed to be competitive and includes base salary, equity, and a full range of benefits and perks. Final compensation will depend on factors such as your skills, experience, qualifications, and location, and will be determined during the interview process. Our recruiting team will share more details about the full compensation package and benefits as you move through hiring.
